How many people can pay together for one transaction?

There’s no limit to the number of customers sharing a payment through Leeway.

How is payment split among buyers?

The customer initiating a group payment selects how the payment will be split: evenly or flexibly.

When is the group payment charged?

By default, the payments are charged only once the entire group commits to pay. However, merchants can customize the charging conditions however they see fit.

What payment methods are accepted?

Any and all payment methods: Apple Pay, Google Pay and all credit and debit cards.

What happens if the group doesn’t complete the transaction?

By default, the booking is held for a duration set by the merchant. If the group doesn’t pay on time, the booking expires, and no customers are charged. However, merchants can customize their cancellation policies and create other automations and Leeway will comply.

How do you encourage payment completion by the entire group?

The booking is held for a duration set by the merchant, after which it’s cancelled. From the moment the group payment is instigated until the transaction deadline, Leeway sends automated reminders motivating the customers to finalize the payment on the merchant’s platform.

Can customers split the payment across multiple payment methods?

Yes. Leeway facilities split payment options across multiple payment methods or multiple buyers.

Do you collect customer payments?

No. Leeway is an additional layer on top of the merchant’s payment stack, so any charges are always made through the merchant’s existing payment processor. We never collect customer payments.
